Meath is one of the counties I film in most. Big country houses, Boyne Valley light, and a run north that I know well enough to arrive early and relaxed.
Why couples getting married in Meath book me
Meath is a comfortable drive from home in Wicklow, and it is a county I come back to year after year. That matters more than it sounds: I am not learning the room on the morning of your wedding, and I am not the supplier who turns up flustered because the motorway had other ideas.
The way I film does not change from county to county. Documentary style, compact equipment, no staging and no directing. I stay in the background and let the day happen. What local knowledge adds is timing: knowing how long the walk from the church really takes, and where the light will be when you step outside.
Meath weddings tend to make the most of the grounds they are set in, and the county rewards that. There is a lot of sky here, and evening light across open country that flatters a film without anyone having to pose for it.

Trim Castle Hotel. Anglo-Norman castle walls right outside the window, and a rooftop that makes an unusual ceremony space: Sinead and Dom's rooftop ceremony was filmed there.
I also know Ballymagarvey Village near Balrath, Boyne Hill House Estate outside Navan and Clonabreany House near Kells. If your venue is not named here, chances are I have filmed nearby or know it; just ask.
From the Boyne Valley to the Hill of Tara
Wherever you are marrying in Meath, I have probably filmed close by: church ceremonies in the towns, civil ceremonies in venue grounds, humanist ceremonies on lawns with the whole valley behind you. The county's mix of historic sites and working farmland gives a film a sense of place that is hard to manufacture.
If your ceremony and reception are in different places, the bit in between is often where the best footage happens. The car, the walk, the quiet minute where it all lands.
