Co. Carlow

Carlow Wedding Videographer

Carlow is Ireland's second smallest county and one of its most underrated for weddings. Borris alone has two venues I would happily film at any weekend.

How I work

Why couples getting married in Carlow book me

Carlow is a straightforward run southwest from home, and small enough that nothing in it is far from anything else. For a wedding film that is a practical advantage: short journeys between ceremony and reception keep the day calm and keep the story continuous.

I film documentary style. Compact equipment, natural light where I can, no staging and no directing. Couples tell me afterwards that they barely noticed me, which is exactly the idea.

The county sits between the Blackstairs Mountains and the Barrow valley, so you are rarely far from a good backdrop. Ten quiet minutes outside near the end of the drinks reception is usually all I need.

Venues

Carlow wedding venues I film at

A few of the Carlow venues where I've filmed real weddings:

Borris House. A historic family home above the village, with the Blackstairs behind it. See Vicky and Jack's Borris House wedding film.

Step House Hotel, Borris. A Georgian townhouse hotel in the middle of one of the prettiest villages in Leinster; here is Lorraine and Joe's day.

I also know Ballykealey House at Ballon and the country houses along the Barrow. If your venue is not named here, chances are I have filmed nearby or know it; just ask.

The whole county

Borris, the Barrow and the Blackstairs

Carlow weddings often have a village feel to them, with guests walking between the church, the hotel and the pub. That is lovely to film: real life happening around you rather than a day sealed inside one building.

Wherever you are marrying in the county, the approach does not change. I stay in the background and film the day as it actually happens.

If you're still comparing options, my portfolio shows the style, how my wedding videography works explains the approach on the day, and wedding video prices covers the practical side.

Other counties I film in

Most of my work is around Leinster, but I travel for the right wedding. If you are marrying outside Carlow, here is where else I work as a wedding videographer: Cavan, Dublin, Kildare, Laois, Louth, Meath, Waterford, Wexford and Wicklow.
