Limerick is a proper trip from home in Wicklow, but it's worth it: a real city on the Shannon, a heritage village, and one of Ireland's grandest wedding estates.
Filming a Limerick wedding
Limerick is further afield for me, so I plan for that: an early start or a night before, so I'm settled on site well before anything begins. Nobody wants their videographer arriving flustered.
The filming itself doesn't change with distance. Documentary style, compact equipment, no staging, no directing, and staying in the background so the day belongs to you rather than to a camera crew.
Limerick wedding venues
Adare Manor. A five star castle estate on the River Maigue, on 840 acres of parkland just outside Adare village. It's genuinely exceptional, and I'd take the right date there.
If your venue isn't named here, ask; I travel across the county for the right wedding.
The city, the Shannon and the heritage villages
Limerick pairs a real working city on the Shannon Estuary with thatched heritage villages like Adare just outside it, and easy reach of the Golden Vale to the east. It photographs and films differently to Leinster, and that's part of the appeal for couples marrying further from home.
