Filming an Offaly wedding
Offaly is a comfortable enough journey for me, but I still plan for it properly: leaving in good time and settling in well before anything begins.
The filming itself doesn't change with distance. Documentary style, compact equipment, no staging, no directing, and staying in the background so the day belongs to you rather than to a camera crew.
Offaly wedding venues
Gloster House. A Georgian country house near Brosna, in the same family for generations, with formal gardens and parkland around it. A quieter, more intimate style of venue, and I'd take the right date there.
I also know Kinnitty Castle, if you're marrying there. If your venue isn't named here, ask; I travel across the county for the right wedding.
Ireland's quiet middle
Offaly doesn't get the attention of the coastal counties, and that's part of its appeal: bogland, rivers and Georgian estates, without the crowds. It suits a wedding that wants to feel private rather than put on a stage.
