This page explains how my wedding videography service works. What usually happens from your first enquiry through to your finished films, what I cover on the day, and what you can expect to receive.
How it works, step by step
After you enquire
When you get in touch, the first thing I do is check whether your date is free. If it is, I will talk you through what is involved and put together a quote based on your plans. There is no pressure at this stage. It is simply a chance to see if we are the right fit for each other.
After you book
Once you book, I gather the important details, look over your schedule and make sure you know what to expect. From there you can get on with planning the rest of your day, knowing the filming side is in good hands.
Planning before the wedding
Closer to the time we confirm the final timings, the locations and the parts of the day that matter most to you. Knowing the shape of the day in advance means I can stay quietly in the right place at the right moment.
How I work on the day
On the day I keep a low profile. I film the real moments as they happen, with no staging and no posing, and without making you feel filmed from morning to night. The aim is for you to enjoy the day properly while I quietly capture it.
If it helps during planning, I am happy to point you towards a few suppliers I know and trust.
Coverage through the day
I am normally with you from the final touches of the morning preparations through to the first few dances in the evening. Everything is filmed by me, working on my own, so the day stays calm and unhurried. A typical day's coverage includes:
- The final touches of the morning preparations, at one location
- The full ceremony, including most of the live music where it is captured clearly on the day
- Photoshoot highlights with family, the bridal party and the two of you
- The drinks reception
- Speeches and toasts in full
- The first few dances
What you receive
Most couples receive two films from their wedding day.
Highlights film
A short highlights film, usually 3 to 5 minutes long. It captures the feeling and the shape of the day, carefully edited so you can sit back and relive it in one sitting.
Documentary-style film
A full length documentary film, typically 90 to 120 minutes. It includes your full speeches and comprehensive ceremony coverage, with most of the live music where it is captured clearly on the day.
Ceremony and speeches. Your ceremony and speeches are treated as important parts of the finished documentary film, rather than trimmed down to a few moments.
Drone and music. Where it is possible, I include drone footage of the venue and its surroundings. This depends on the weather, the location and the venue's permissions, and it is not suitable for city centre or built-up areas, so it is never something I promise in advance. The films use properly licensed music.
Delivery. Your finished films are delivered as a private digital download.

Wedding videography questions
What is documentary wedding videography?
It means filming the day as it happens rather than directing it. No posing, no staged shots, and nobody asked to do something again for the camera. I stay in the background and film the real moments, so the finished film shows the day as it actually was rather than a version arranged for the lens.
Do you cover wedding videography across all of Ireland?
Yes. I am based in County Wicklow and film weddings right across Leinster and beyond, including Dublin, Meath, Kildare, Carlow, Laois, Louth, Cavan, Wexford and Waterford. If your venue is further afield, just ask.
How much does wedding videography in Ireland cost?
Most couples spend between €2,700 and €3,700, though occasional bookings fall outside that range. A quote depends on your date, your venue, the coverage you would like and my availability. There is a fuller explanation on the wedding video prices page.
What is the difference between a highlights film and a documentary film?
