Station House Hotel Wedding Videographer

The Station House Hotel was built in 1862 as a working railway station, and it ran as a busy junction between Dublin and the surrounding towns of Navan, Trim and Athboy right up to 1963. It's been family-run for over 40 years and sits on 12 acres of gardens and woodland.

I've filmed weddings here. The old railway bones are still very much part of the place, which gives it a character that a purpose-built hotel just doesn't have.

Here's how I work, wherever I'm filming: compact equipment, no staging, no directing, and a habit of staying out of the way so the day looks like it actually happened rather than a production.

• The 12 acres of gardens and woodland give plenty of options for photographs and footage without leaving the grounds.
• An outdoor ceremony at the Turntable is weather-dependent, so it's worth having a plan B in mind.
