Wicklow Wedding Videographer
Wicklow is my home county. I've been filming weddings here for well over a decade, at nearly every venue between the mountains and the sea.
Why couples getting married in Wicklow book me
I live in Roundwood, right in the middle of the county, so a Wicklow wedding is a home game for me. There's no travel uncertainty on the morning, I know the back roads between the churches and the venues, and I know where the light falls at the places you're most likely to be standing.
The way I film doesn't change from venue to venue: documentary style, no staging, compact equipment, and a habit of blending into the background that couples and guests comment on afterwards. What being local adds is venue knowledge: knowing the rooms, the grounds, and the timings means I can be in the right place quietly instead of chasing the day around.
In summer the light hangs late over the hills here, and some of my favourite couple footage has come from slipping outside for ten quiet minutes at golden hour. I plan around Wicklow weather the way locals do: loosely, with a dry option in mind and no panic when the mist rolls in. Half the time it makes the footage better.
Wicklow wedding venues I film at
A few of the Wicklow venues where I've filmed real weddings:
Powerscourt Hotel and Estate, Enniskerry. Luxury hospitality beside the famous gardens and waterfall country. See a real Powerscourt wedding film.
Rathsallagh House, Dunlavin. A country house wedding that feels like a house party. I've filmed here many times, including Helen and Stephen's day and Sinead and Dan's.
Tinakilly Country House, Rathnew. Victorian house, sea air, gardens made for an evening stroll. Here's Sinead and Shane's Tinakilly wedding film.
Trudder Lodge, Newtownmountkennedy. An exclusive-hire lodge I know well; see Áine and Joe's wedding or Neasa and PJ's.
Killruddery House, Bray. One of Ireland's great historic estates; Megan and Jake's wedding was a joy to film there.
Druids Glen Resort, Newtownmountkennedy. Mountains on one side, golf course calm on the other; here's Susan and David's day.
I've also filmed at Ballybeg House near Tinahely, and I know the county's other favourites well, from BrookLodge and Macreddin Village in the Wicklow hills to Tulfarris on the Blessington lakes and Clonwilliam House. If your venue isn't named here, chances are I've been there or know it; just ask.
From Bray to Arklow, mountains to coast
Wherever you're marrying in Wicklow, chances are I've filmed nearby: church ceremonies in the villages, civil ceremonies in venue grounds, humanist ceremonies on lawns overlooking the sea. The county's mix of mountains, gardens and coastline is the reason they call it the Garden of Ireland, and it photographs and films like nowhere else in Leinster.
I might be biased, but after all these years filming around the country, I still think couples who marry in Wicklow have chosen well.
If you're still comparing options, my portfolio shows the style, how I work explains the approach on the day, and wedding video prices covers the practical side.
