Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel Wedding Videographer
A discreet, documentary-style wedding film on Killiney Hill, with views over Dublin Bay from Dublin's southside.
A castle above Dublin Bay since the 1740s
The original house on this site, Mount Mapas, was built in 1741. Robert Warren extended it and renamed it Killiney Castle in 1840, and it became a hotel in 1971 under Paddy and Eithne Fitzpatrick. It sits high enough on Killiney Hill that the views over Dublin Bay are part of the draw for couples marrying here.
I filmed a wedding here in 2021, and it was later featured in IMAGE magazine. I work documentary style, wherever I'm filming: compact equipment, no staging, no directing, and a habit of staying out of the way so the day looks like it actually happened.
Where Fitzpatrick Castle weddings happen
The Prince Regent Suite is the largest function room, taking up to 450 guests. The Albert & Behan Suite holds 220, and the GB Shaw Suite suits a smaller day at 50. Ceremonies here can range from an intimate 25 guests up to 280.
Planning a wedding at Fitzpatrick Castle
- Killiney Hill and the sea views nearby are worth building into your photo and film plan if the weather cooperates.
- With three function rooms of very different scale, it's worth confirming early which suite you're actually booked into.
- It's a short run from most of Dublin city, so an easy venue for guests to reach without a long journey.
