A discreet, documentary-style wedding film on a 400 year old estate just outside Cavan town, now the Radisson Blu Farnham Estate Hotel.
Four hundred years as the Farnham family seat
Farnham Estate was home to the Farnham family for around 400 years before it became the hotel it is today, just west of Cavan town. The grounds include an 18 hole golf course and a lake, and the estate only takes one wedding a day, so the whole place feels like it's yours rather than shared with a conference downstairs.
I film documentary style: compact equipment, no staging, no directing. On a still evening the lake here gives a wedding film a genuinely different backdrop to anywhere else I work in Cavan.
Where Farnham weddings happen
Civil ceremonies here can be outdoors at the Farnham Lawn Gazebo, set among mature trees, or indoors in the Redwood Suite, both holding up to 150 guests. The reception ballroom takes up to 240 for dinner.
Civil ceremony bookings still need to go through Cavan's own Civil Registration Office directly, which is worth sorting early rather than assuming the hotel handles it all.
