A big, well-run city hotel
Castleknock Hotel is set on the edge of the city near Phoenix Park, with 190 bedrooms and landscaped grounds. It's built for weddings at scale: full exclusivity is available, and there's a spa on site for anyone staying over.
I've filmed weddings here. It's a smooth, well-organised venue to work in: the team know their own turnaround between ceremony and reception, which makes for a calmer day all round.
Where Castleknock weddings happen
Ceremonies run for up to 180 guests, and the Phoenix Suite takes weddings from 10 up to around 220, with a dining capacity of 190. Drinks receptions are usually in the Earth & Vine restaurant before the room turns over for dinner and dancing.
How I work
Here's how I work, wherever I'm filming: compact equipment, no staging, no directing, and a habit of staying out of the way so the day looks like it actually happened rather than a production.
