BrookLodge sits in Macreddin Village in the Wicklow Valley, with its own purpose-built ceremony chapel on site, Macreddin Chapel, which is a genuine point of difference from the country houses and hotels that need a marquee or a function room to double as a ceremony space.
It's home ground for me: I live in Wicklow, so the drive and the light here are both familiar.
Where weddings happen at BrookLodge & Macreddin Village
Ceremonies are held in Macreddin Chapel, which seats around 140. The reception moves to BrookHall, a stone-fireplace room with a mezzanine lounge, taking up to 180 guests.
How I'd approach it
Here's how I work, wherever I'm filming: compact equipment, no staging, no directing, and a habit of staying out of the way so the day looks like it actually happened rather than a production.
- The chapel is purpose-built for ceremonies, so the acoustics and layout are already sorted rather than improvised.
