Lough Rynn Castle Wedding Videographer

Lough Rynn was the ancestral home of the Clements family: Robert Clements became the first Earl of Leitrim in 1795, and his grandson built a mock Tudor revival house here in 1833, overlooking the lake. The Victorian baronial mansion standing today was completed in 1889, with a great hall, baronial hall, chapel and reception rooms on the principal floor. After a long decline through the twentieth century, it was restored and reopened as a hotel in the mid-2000s.

It's a genuine castle rather than a hotel dressed up as one, surrounded by over 300 acres of grounds and gardens, and it's a fair drive from anywhere: worth building the travel into your day rather than treating it as an afterthought.

• The lake and the wider estate give plenty of scope for outdoor photographs and film, in most kinds of weather.
• It's a secluded location in the west of Ireland, so it's worth factoring travel time into the day for guests coming from Leinster.
• The Baronial Hall's scale makes for a genuinely grand ceremony room if that's what you're after.
