Carton House Wedding Videographer

A discreet, documentary-style wedding film at the FitzGeralds' old estate in Maynooth, captured quietly so you can stay in the moment.

Filming at Carton House

A videographer who knows the estate

Carton House is one of Kildare's great wedding settings: the ancestral estate of the FitzGeralds turned luxury resort, twenty minutes from Dublin on the edge of Maynooth. It gives a wedding film everything: a grand house, parkland that goes on forever, and staff who genuinely look after you.

I've filmed here more than once, and coming back always feels easy: familiar faces among the management and staff, and the same warm welcome for the crew as for the guests. That familiarity matters on the day. When your videographer already knows the rooms and the run of the day, everything happens quietly.

A lot of Carton weddings start with a church ceremony in Maynooth and a short spin back to the estate, which is a lovely rhythm to film: the couple's first quiet minutes together happen on the move, and the parkland gives us beautiful natural light for a relaxed stop with your photographer on the way in.

After that I disappear into the day: documentary style, compact equipment, no staging, no directing. The film you get back is the day as it actually felt.

Good to know

Planning a wedding at Carton House

A few things couples ask me about filming here:

  • If you're marrying in Maynooth first, leave a little slack in the timeline for a relaxed stop in the grounds; ten unhurried minutes beats a rushed half hour.
  • The estate is huge, so agree your photo locations in advance with your photographer; it keeps the afternoon calm and gets you back to your guests sooner.
  • The ballroom evenings here are great fun to film; if you're having dancers or a big band moment, tell me beforehand so I'm quietly in the right spot.

Real weddings

A wedding I've filmed at Carton House

The film above is from Jeananne and Nicholas's day. Afterwards they wrote: "Thank you so much for capturing our day so beautifully. The day itself went by so quickly and having forgotten so much of the speeches, we are both so happy we can relive it again." There's more about their day in Jeananne and Nicholas's Carton House wedding video post.
